About the H.O.P.E. Certification Program


The Housing Opportunity Program Expert (HOPE) Certification educates REALTORS® on available programs to help first-time as well as low to moderate income buyers purchase a home. This Certification program allows people to find REALTORS® who have acquired the education and skills to handle real estate transactions in the workforce-housing market. Participants must attend the required seminars and Continuing Education courses within two years to earn the local HOPE Certification. All workshops are free to DBAAR members, but the cost of CE-approved courses are covered by participants.

Program Benefits
The Housing Opportunity Program Expert (HOPE) Certification identifies REALTORS® who have committed time, obtained experience and received education in the workforce-housing market. REALTORS® who complete the program receive the local designation of Housing Opportunity Program Expert along with the following benefits:
  • Certificate of completion
  • HOPE lapel pin
  • Name and contact information given to partnering housing non-profits to share with their clients
  • Name and contact information listed on DaytonaRealtors.com
  • Opportunity to use the HOPE logo on business cards and other promotional materials

Housing Opportunities Recertification


For graduates to remain current on affordable workforce-housing resources and issues, each graduate must attend or complete a minimum of two of the following each year:
  • Refresher workshop (refresher workshops will be offered periodically throughout the year, and information about these will be sent via email).
  • Current approved elective courses (identified throughout the year).
  • Fair Housing online CE course
  • Workforce-housing transaction: Completing a sales transaction for an affordable-housing client as defined by HUD (80% of area-median income). Transactions must be completed using an approved down payment assistance program. Appropriate documentation must be sent to DBAAR.
