DBAAR REALTOR Dependent Scholarship Program
The Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS® Foundation, organized and
operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes, offers a
scholarship program for dependents of DBAAR Members. Funds for the establishment
of the scholarship are the result of contributions made directly to the
Foundation by the members of the association. Additionally each year, the
Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS® makes a contribution from the
general fund, to support this scholarship program. The Board of Directors of the Foundation has approved awarding annually up to five, $1,000 college scholarships to dependents of REALTORS®. A dependent includes anyone considered to be a dependent on the member’s federal tax return who is 25 years of age or younger. Members must have at least three years of continuous board membership. A professional review panel composed of dignitaries shall make the selections of recipients. The panel will base their selections on scholastic achievement, character, leadership, service, citizenship, and promise of professional growth and development. Applicants are required to complete and submit the REALTOR® Dependent Scholarship Application. A dependent of a DBAAR member may obtain this application from the association office or online. DEADLINE Applications must be received at the association office on or before February 26th. PURPOSE The Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS® Foundation Scholarship was created to assist full-time student dependents of REALTOR® members of the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS® to complete their undergraduate programs at a degree granting college or university. Scholarships are awarded annually in the amount of $1,000. APPLICANT’S CRITERIA 1. Must be a dependent of a DBAAR REALTOR® member(s) who has at least three years continuous membership prior to application for the scholarship. 2. “Dependent” shall include anyone considered to be a dependent on the member’s federal tax return and twenty-five years or younger. 3. This scholarship will be granted to recipients in an undergraduate program to attend a degree granting college or university as a full-time student. The use of this scholarship is unrestricted as to field of study. THE SELECTION AND AWARD PROCESS 1. Selection of the recipients shall be by a committee of business executives or educators, independent from the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS®. 2. Scholarships are to be awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, character, personality, leadership service, citizenship and promise of professional growth and development. 3. These awards shall be made on an annual basis. Prior recipients may apply in subsequent years for scholarship funds and shall be judged with all other applicants. 4. Scholarship funds shall be paid directly to the college or university. PROCEDURES TO APPLY To be eligible, application must be received before February 26th at the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS®.
