REALTOR® Designations

Many REALTORS® find there are some areas of the real estate industry that are only brushed upon in their initial training. In order to hit these areas, many REALTORS® literally "go back to school" to earn professional designations. These professional designations are the little letters which follow your REALTORS®' names on their advertisements, letterhead and business cards.

Early in its history, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) recognized a need for specialists to better serve the public and to assist other members in serving their clients with specific interests. Therefore, NAR and its affiliated groups started offering programs to increase their members' skills and knowledge. Each group awards specialty designations that recognize a member's advanced education and experience in a particular area of the real estate industry. Courses offered through the affiliates help members stay abreast of developments in their specialized fields and anticipate and address industry trends and issues.

There are dozens of professional designations, but the following is a brief explanation of Daytona's top real estate designations.
